2001年，肖显盛成为一名下岗职工。面对下岗后既无技术又缺资金的艰难处境，他不得不重新规划自己的未来。究竟从事何种行业？已经下岗了，却还未明确经营方向。为了维持生计，他先后在巴东县野三关镇开设小商铺，经营小百货、副食商品、代销柴油，并设立柴油加油点。2003年3月，肖显盛响应改革开放的伟大号召，为促进地方发展。经有关部门批准，在野三关镇青龙桥社区五组兴建柴油加油点，进行柴油零售。2006年6月升级为加油站，经营汽油、柴油。从此，他与石油结下深厚缘分。2012年、2017年、2022年，依照上级要求，先后对加油站存在的安全隐患、油气回收、双层罐改造等进行了三次大规模的标准化改造，使加油设备、罩棚及服务设施逐步得以改进和完善，面貌焕然一新，站内环境优美宜人；引进了人工智能收款设备和技术，优化了结算流程，让顾客加油迅速，结算便捷；时常对员工开展技能和素质培训，还多次组织员工外出参观学习，培养员工的主人翁意识，促使服务质量和服务水平不断提高，令顾客乘兴而来，满意而归。车辆的进站率和顾客的回头率逐步攀升。
